Matt's wedding

We had such a great time with Robb's family during Matt's wedding weekend. Matt, Robb's brother, married Tamsin in Beaverton, Oregon (right outside Portland.) It was Riley's first plane flight and first time meeting some of Robb's extended family members.

We had a wonderful dinner the night before the wedding.
Riley had so much fun with Grammi!
This girl loves her some Uncle Matt!

Riley meeting "cousin" Lizzie ... actually Robb's cousin April's daughter, age 3

Robb's grandpa "Papa" with Addison, the newest addition to the family (cousin Jennifer's daughter)

The next day was a beautiful ceremony and reception.
Riley was soooo excited to wear her party dress. She asked to wear it every day for a week leading up to the wedding.

Family shot ... 3 1/3 of us

The blushing bride and her father

The captive audience. Robb was readying himself mentally to hand over the all-important rings burning a hole in his pocket.

The vows. Almost Mr. and Mrs. Holmstrom!

Grammi let Riley try on her corsage. Riley loved it!

Grammi, Papa, and Nonnie (Robb's mom and grandparents)

Riley can't get enough of Grammi!

The Holmstrom fam: Robb, his dad Jack, brothers Bill and Matt, and mom Lesli

Hangin' with Robb's cousin Chris and son Peter (almost 2.) Another playmate for Riley at the wedding.

Besides the great family time and amazing wedding,  we also got to enjoy some of what Portland/Beaverton had to offer. We visited a huge park with a great kid's playground, and an unbelievable Farmer's Market that puts SLO's to shame.

But alas, all good things come to an end ...

Hodgepodge

Here are a hodgepodge of pictures from this summer that shows a little of what we have been up to. With Robb working a regular weekday schedule, we try and get out to do fun things on the weekends, and Riley and I stick close to home on the weekdays to enjoy playdates with friends and community activities.

We started out the summer by potty-training Riley right away. Contrary to what this picture shows, she now goes consistently in her little potty. Next step: the big toilet (though she does do it in public.)
Daddy did her hair ... just sayin'.
Riley is obsessed with her undies; we finally had to implement an "undies are not toys" rule after a couple weeks.
She said Elmo had to wipe, and I thought to myself, "Sure, what could happen in the 30 seconds before I come help?"

Of course, it wouldn't be summer without lots of swimming!

We also have fun playdates.
Starting a marching band
The band members
Eating with Becca's girls
The Johnsons came to visit and Riley and Katelyn had fun having a picnic

We've spent some time in the great outdoors ...

and indoors ...

Despite the book title, Riley still has a lot of learning to do in this area

Hope you've been having a fun summer too!

Camping Trip

Our first annual summer camping trip with my college friends and their families took place over the weekend. 8 families descended upon Lopez Lake for a weekend full of sun and fun.

All of the kids (most were 2 years old and under) did wonderfully and seemed to really enjoy camping. I know the adults did!

We stopped at Pismo Beach and played in the ocean.

Riley LOVES the water!!

Riley made friends with Cody's dog right away

Kelly's son Bennett was a fav friend of Riley's

Trying out her new camping chair; thanks Zach and Amber!
