Pre-Christmas Festivities (also known as the entire month of December)

The month of December found us celebrating Christmas with a Santa-related activity every weekend. Riley learned the word "overexposure." (Just kidding.) I apologize in advance for the gratuitous amount of photos below of our only child.

We kicked off the holiday season with a visit to Old Sac to see the light show. Santa made a surprise visit afterward, so we snagged a pic.
"He's not going to touch me, is he?"

We followed up our Santa sighting with a trip to the ice cream parlor. No, Riley didn't eat that whole sundae herself. I may have played a small role in devouring it. Robb practically lost a finger in the process.

The next weekend we went to the Community Center for a city-sponsored event.

Riley was surprisingly scared of the big balloon creatures.

Showing off the craft she made (kind of)

Her very first candy cane!

A bit hesitant to meet the big man himself

Nervous hand in the mouth at all times

"You can make me sit here but I'm not going to look at you."

As we were the last ones to leave, Riley got a special shout-out!

Weekend #3 found us at a different community center (yeah, we hit up all our surrounding cities) for breakfast with Santa. This time Grandpa and Grandma came along.

At this point, Riley was becoming a pro at visiting with Santa ... as long as she had her trusty hand to suck on.

Afterward there was a "workshop" with games and treats that the Boy Scouts and other random teenagers put on.

"Now this one's more my size!"

So far the season has been delightful ... and Christmas is still over a week away!
